Project Description
Location: Oregon
The PDCI project involved the upgrade of a 265 mile portion of the Pacific Direct Current Intertie from the Celilo Converter Station in The Dalles, in north central Oregon to the Nevada/Oregon Border near Lakeview, Oregon. The line is made up of three sections which was constructed concurrently from 2014 through 2016. K2 is provided environmental support for all three sections of this project. The main environmental concerns on this project included sensitive species protection such as nesting raptors and avoidance of sensitive plant populations. A noxious weed management plan was developed for the project and was implemented in the field. There are a significant number of cultural resources on the project that required monitoring and protection. The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) was written and is maintained by K2 for the duration of the project.
